Keep your plans on this phone (private address)

Your phone can hide its real WiFi address and invent a new one for each network. It is a privacy feature and it is on by default. Kontri recognises your phone by that address, so when the phone changes it, your plans, your seat and your devices list all see a stranger. Turning it off for the Kontri network only takes a moment, and changes nothing anywhere else.

  1. 1On iPhone or iPad: open Settings, tap Wi-Fi, tap the small i beside the Kontri network, then turn Private Wi-Fi Address off. Your phone reconnects on its own.
  2. 2On Android: open Settings, tap Network and internet, tap Internet or Wi-Fi, tap the gear or the arrow beside the Kontri network, open Privacy, and choose Use device MAC.
  3. 3Wording differs a little by phone. Look for Private address, Private Wi-Fi Address, Randomised MAC or MAC address type, inside the settings of the Kontri network itself.
  4. 4Reconnect once after the change, and sign in if the page asks. From then on this phone is the same device every time, and your plan keeps its seat on it.

You only need to do this for the Kontri network. Every other network on your phone keeps its private address exactly as it was.
